Amnesty International: human rights under surveillance

Design

The aim of this design was to tell a complex story in an intuitive and accessible way. We decided to order events and visuals in chronological order and to position each visual element in the upper portion of the page.  Below each image, towards the bottom, you may read a detailed description of what that image represents in the story. By doing this we ended up with something quite original, more similar to a screenplay than to a report.

This report outlines Amnesty International’s findings on the digital threats and attacks faced by human rights defenders and civil society in Pakistan.

– Amnesty International

Amnesty International is a global movement of more than 7 million people who campaign for a worldwhere human rights are enjoyed by all.

Our vision is for every person to enjoy all the rights enshrined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rightsand other international human rights standards.

Numbers connect images to their description in the bottom portion of the page which mimics a structure that is similar to that of a screenplay or a comic. An unconventional but effective and approachable way to tell a story.
